The club has a thriving Over 50s section that meets twice a month on Tuesday nights. They provide entertainment suitable for this age group, and all meeting attendees are provided with a buffet meal during the evening. Along with a section raffle and other activities, it is a full eveningās entertainment program. The club is extremely proud to be associated with the M.A.D. section. This section caters to disadvantaged children and adults in the community who have mental health problems and conditions associated with autism. They meet twice a month and cater to two different age groups, providing disco-type entertainment and events throughout the year. A team of professionals supervises and cares for them during the evenings or daytime entertainment. Contact the club for more details if you have children who would benefit from and enjoy being involved in this section.
The club is an affiliated member of the Club and Institute Union (C.I.U.). Club members can join the C.I.U. and are entitled to the benefits they offer, including entry to other C.I.U. clubs affiliated throughout the country.
The club has a total of five active dart teams: three menās teams and two ladiesā teams, all competing in various darts leagues throughout the area.
The club has a team that meets in the local league on Tuesday nights. It is very popular with several of our members, and our team has been successful in the competitions they enter.
If you enjoy a game of competitive poker, come along to the club on Saturday afternoons and join this section. They meet and arrange internal competitions on a regular basis.
The club has two full-size snooker tables and a pool table for members’ enjoyment. Currently, the club is not in any competitive leagues for these activities, but the facilities are used regularly for members’ enjoyment and entertainment.
Throughout the club, there are two large television screens supplemented by seven other screens in the club’s bars. This includes a large screen in the garden area. All major sporting events can be shown as the club subscribes to Sky Sports and TNT Sports. Some box office events are occasionally purchased for members’ enjoyment.
This team of committee members and club members meets once a month and is responsible for overseeing the clubās entertainment program and organizing events inside and outside the club. The club organizes a regular coach trip to Goodwood during Goodwood week and has also run a trip to Brighton Greyhound Track. It is instrumental in supporting and driving various internal family day events, such as the Easter, Summer Party, Halloween Event, and Children’s Christmas Party. They also organize the senior citizens’ Christmas party and day trips to places of interest and other C.I.U. clubs. Members do not have to be on the committee to join this team or to help organize events.
